Torrijas are a sort of Spanish style French toast. Usually, torrijas are eaten during Easter and the Spanish Holy Week, as a sweet and delicious dessert. Now, discover a vegan alternative to this traditional Spanish dessert.
Pour the rice drink, steviat, cinnamon and vanilla extract into
a pot.
Heat the mix until the cinnamon and the sweetener are
completely dissolved.
Put the bread slices on a tray and pour the mix from the pot.
Make sure to soak them on both sides.
Then, blend the chickpea flour and water and coat the torrijas
here.
Put the bread slices on an oven tray and cook for 10 minutes at
200ºC, turning them around when five minutes have passed, so they are
cooked evenly on both sides.
Place the torrijas on a plate and add some red fruits.
You can use stale bread, transforming this
recipe into one of left-over cooking.
